Research Areas: Omics-integrated genome-scale modeling (GSM) of microorganisms
I am a second year PhD student and my work focuses on computational systems biology. I will be integrating omics data into genome-scale models of microbes to bridge computational insights with the experimental work done in our lab. My goal is to better inform large-scale bioreactor processes.
I received my BS/MSE in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Johns Hopkins in the Betenbaugh Lab. My thesis, “Microbial Biomining of Spent Lithium Ion Batteries”, demonstrated the potential of Aspergillus niger fed with alternative carbon substrates, including a synthetic lichen co-culture, to sustainably recycle lithium-ion batteries.
Outside of research, I love hot yoga, trying every coffee shop in Madison, taking classes at the Wheelhouse, and film photography.
My favorite punctuation mark is ! because I use it way too much!
