Position title: POSTDOCTORAL SCHOLAR

Research Areas: Metabolic engineering of E.coli and yeast, microbial production of bio-based chemicals, Isobutanol from yeast, fatty alcohols from E.coli

I’m interested in using microbial systems for renewable chemical production and eco-friendly bioprocessing, combining metabolic engineering and synthetic biology to create sustainable alternatives to industrial products.

I am currently working on engineering Saccharomyces cerevisiae for renewable isobutanol production from lignocellulosic biomass, which involves identifying the bottle necks and engineering enzymes in the pathway to improve the yields.

Outside of research, I enjoy hiking and biking on the many scenic trails in and around Madison. I also like to capture nature’s greatest hits, always chasing the perfect shot as I trade footprints for photo frames.
