Credentials: B.S. Biological Engineering, Purdue University
Position title: GRADUATE STUDENT, CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL ENGINEERING

Research Areas: Metabolic engineering of oleaginous yeast, microbial production of bio-based chemicals
I am part of the Center for Advanced Bioenergy and Bioproducts Innovation (CABBI) and work with oleaginous yeast including Yarrowia lipolytica to produce higher-value chemicals such as medium chain fatty acids and to consume lignocellulosic hydrolysate, a lower-cost, non-ideal carbon source.
My favorite punctuation mark is the asterisk* because it looks like a snowflake or a flower, two of my favorite things.
*I also appreciate it’s ability to provide additional context and clarification when necessary.
